The Wexford Family History Centre located in The Lennon Centre, Annagh Long, Gorey, Co Wexford
The Wexford Family History Research Centre is located at Lennon’s Cross, on the main Gorey, to Tinahealy Road, and nestled under Annagh Hill.
Annagh Hill is separated from Croghan Mountain to the north by Wicklow Gap. It overlooks the villages of Monaseed, where the famous Myles Byrne lived and Hollyfort Village which was home to the Hunter Gowan. The area is filled with history and quite close to the Wicklow Way, a 131 km Walking trail.
The Wexford Family History Research Centre is open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm by appointment. Our Irish Genie, Bernie Walsh is happy to assist you with your research on your Wexford family; the centre also caters for research for Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow and Kilkenny. The facility has access to Roman Catholic Registers and some Church of Ireland Registers for Hollyfort, Gorey, Ballycanew Liskenferne, Bunclody, Carnew and Carlow.
Our Irish Genie, Bernie Walsh will try to fill in those daunting gaps and bring you on an emotional journey through your family history. Sometimes the gaps cannot be filled, and this is due to lack of records.
There is a range of local historical books and printouts.
